Questions and answers

How long does successful treatment with Niplette take?

It is not possible to answer this question directly and it is best explained on the basis that it is dependent upon many factors e.g. how inverted the nipple is and how many hours is the Niplette used per day. We normally suggest that successful treatment should be completed within 3 months, wearing the device for a minimum of 8 hours per day.

Why does the Niplette keep falling off?

This can happen when the tube is blocked by either discharge from the nipple or by Vaseline. It is important to flush the tube through with hand-hot soapy water by drawing the liquid up through the thimble and tube into the syringe and then flushing it back out. This exercise should be repeated a number of times and then finally with clear water.
